Yep, this is what $250 worth of jewelry from the Designing-Diva boutique looks like.

Jessica has chosen the following designs for her mom and wants to give them to her in person. AWWW! :)

1. A dichroic glass pendant.

2. Turquoise Nugget Earrings and a Turquoise Nugget Silver Necklace.

3. A Bali silver bead and chain.

4. An original silver wire wrapped amazonite nugget and pearl pendant with silver chain (which will do double duty for her glass pendant)....all because she told me her mom loves blue! :) Jessica like it so much and asked for white freshwater pearl earrings which turned out great if I do say so myself!

5. One of my most popular limited edition designs, "Super Star", 3 silver hammered rings suspended from a silver chain and hammered silver ring earrings.

Whew. I think I got that all! That was fun. I told Jessica I feel like Santa Claus and what a great feeling (it truly is greater to give than to receive!).

Jewelry 411 for Wednesday

I'm getting studio reorganized since getting back from the retail market this weekend. I have a few more orders to get out the door today and will be firing some fused glass today or tomorrow. Woohoo. I haven't had a chance to make dichroic fused glass pendants or earrings for a few weeks now and I have glass fever!

The Mom Rocks Contest winner has been announced and contacted. Once again, thanks to all who wrote in. It was more emotional and heartfelt than I expected....all those entries really inspired me! Congratulations to Jessica. We are working on getting her mom pieces that she will love to wear! :) Well, isn't that the point!!!

We Have a Jewelry Winner for the 2007 Mom Rocks Contest

Phew, this was a such a hard decision. I read every entry and there were quite a few of them. Thanks so much to everyone who participated!

Growing up my mom was the cool mom who planned old school birthday party games and cool treat bags - my friends still talk about the birthday parties my mom organized!!
She was the mom who made homemade bread and cookies every week and had a supper made every night for the family to sit and eat together.
She would play board games with me and talk for hours with me.
My mom has always rocked.
But since my son entered the world 12 weeks ago I have realized my mom is more than just my mom. More than just my friend even. I realized that my mom is a strong support system. My mom is like a solid and reliable rock in my life. She is full of ideas and advice, but she doesn't throw it at me. She waits till I ask. She has told well wishers who have tried to give her advice to pass on to me about the baby that she "will not pass on advice to my daughter. When she needs to know something she will ask."
I love that my mom doesn't try to live my life or plan my life for me! She is an encourager - a cheerleader for my life.
I am so blessed to have her as my mom!
