I'm getting studio reorganized since getting back from the retail market this weekend. I have a few more orders to get out the door today and will be firing some fused glass today or tomorrow. Woohoo. I haven't had a chance to make dichroic fused glass pendants or earrings for a few weeks now and I have glass fever!
The Mom Rocks Contest winner has been announced and contacted. Once again, thanks to all who wrote in. It was more emotional and heartfelt than I expected....all those entries really inspired me! Congratulations to Jessica. We are working on getting her mom pieces that she will love to wear! :) Well, isn't that the point!!!
Today is the last day that you can get jewelry by Mother's Day in the USA (sorry, I can NOT guarantee Canada); you will have to choose expedited shipping to guarantee Saturday delivery. :) Or make it simple, choose a Jewelry Gift Certificate!
Okay, I'm off to the studio to design and play with some glass! :)

Jewelry Buzz
As a jewelry artist, I keep an ear out on and offline on "jewelry buzz". Fabsugar has a little poll going on titled,
Do You Splurge on Jewelry ?
It was interesting to see that some responded that they have a black belt in shopping for jewelry, others only wore costume, and others got jewelry as a gift from loved ones.
I always wear jewelry. 99.9% of the time, it is a piece I designed but I do have some upscale pieces that my dear hubbie, John, bought for me before I became a jewelry artist that I wear. I see jewelry as an extension and it is just like makeup and hair...it tells the world who you are. I want my first impression to be..."UNIQUE" ...in one word. ;) I guess that is why many of my designs are originals or limited editions....no mass production/cookie cutter look here!
So, how would you respond? Do you splurge on jewelry (tell us what kind!)???
If you have a black belt in shopping and like to splurge, check out the daily Steal My Bauble special....Cherry Bomb!

Black Friday and Shopping
I found this article that was interesting about Black Friday. It marks the start of the shopping for the holidays. Just remember, when you shop for Diva Jewelry you can do it in your jammies with NO crowds and the 20% of sale will be exteneded until Monday the 27th at midnight. Just e-mail the Diva at Blog Sale with the items you want and I'll send you a corrected invoice. Free standard shipping is also included and all jewelry comes with a gift box.

"This is serious shopping. This is black-belt shopping. This is not for the meek shopper," said Michele Rothstein, Woodbury Common Premium Outlets.
An estimated 63 million shoppers will be competing for those early-bird bargains, and get a jump on reeling them in, stores like Walmart started slashing prices on toys in October.
"And the price cuts were about 25% steeper, so they've already thrown down the guantlet for the holiday season," said Christine Augustine, Retail Analyst for Bear Stearns.
Retailers like Best Buy fired back with drastic discounts on electronics and Kohl's is offering big reductions on jewelry, but supplies are limited and sell out fast.
Theresa Burrage has been checking out the bargains for weeks.
"If you think you're going to get out of bed and show up on Black Friday and not be prepared, you're not going to get anything," she said.
Eager consumers don't have long to wait. Retailers like those in Woodbury Common New York are opening their doors at midnight and they're even chartering buses to get shoppers there Thanksgiving night.
It's not different on Delmarva. At 3am, we saw cars on the road going to shop. Many popular retailers like Walmart opened around midnight Friday morning.
