Urban Street Bazaar -What You Missed if you Didn't Come

Julie McCullough Kim of Make It worked behind the scenes to make the Urban Street Bazaar held this this past Saturday a super shopping event for those who love unique handcrafted quality goods. As a jewelry artist, it was great to connect with people who want something unique and NOT cookie cutter/mass produced. Julie also has a line of handmade modern goods, Enju, that are ultra cool. My favorite is the Linden Hobo Bag which you can see at her Etsy shop or stop by the Make It store in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas to not only see her goods but other talented designers as well plus you can sign up for a class to make something fab of your own!

The event was held at the Dallas Market Hall and the vendors were treated to free snacks & drinks in the vendor only area which was thoughtful of the organizers. The show was held from 11am-10pm and there was no food service so even though I packed a few Zone bars I enjoyed the guilty pleasure of drinking a Coke! ;)

The DJ was fantastic. The music selection appealed to a wide demographic and provided some hip ambience to the event. We were even treated to a live performance by Lovie. How cool is that!

Plus, there was a fashion show and a cash bar in the afternoon so people could sip and shop.

There was a crowd waiting to bust in at 11am because of the limited Indie Swag Bags (goodie bag).
I got to network with other indie artists/crafter/ and designers plus meet new customers. I met Tara who had amazing personality and who designs amazing vintage goods. Check out her Etsy Shop, Tara to the T!

I met another fused glass artist, Amber, who creates the most amazing fused glass belt buckles. She is part of the Dallas Craft Mafia and I just love her business name, Chromosapien! Check out her amazing Wallpaper Myself fused glass belt buckle in her Etsy shop.

The Urban Street Bazaar was part of the Dallas Indie Experience with 3 shows over the weekend. Jessica of Funky Finds is holding a contest for a Indie Swag Bag and a Funky Finds ornament! New Fused Glass Rings just added at the boutique

The dichroic fused glass rings were a huge hit at the Urban Street Bazaar this past Saturday. I got a lot of positive feedback on the fabricated adjustable bands; I create them so they adjust at the top so they do not PINCH! Jewelry should NOT hurt! I also antique the sterling bands with liver of sulfur for that ultra cool "gunmetal grey" look!

Coppell Holiday House Display

I had a great time in my own backyard at the Coppell Holiday House and thought I would share my little corner with y'all. It was a great location but I had no electricity....can't win them all! The dichroic glass wine stoppers were a huge hit and I was able to tell lots of folks about the Urban Street Bazaar on December 1st at Dallas Market Hall. I'm excited to be one of the featured designers at this juried handcrafted (NO IMPORTS) event!
