Summer To Do List

Summer is "spring cleaning" time for my business and especially my website.

The website is in desperate need of an "overhaul". For shopping ease, I'm looking into Zen Cart. Now, I'm fairly technical savvy and can use Dreamweaver with ease but the "php" is a whole new learning curve. If you know anyone who is a Zen Cart whiz who might be interested in "exchange services", I would love to talk to them to save on the hair pulling! :)

As a small business owner, I value my customer feedback and if there is anything you notice on the website, Designing-Diva, that is annoying or could be done better, just drop me a line!

As I overhaul and add new designs, I will be reducing prices on overstock and older items so stay tuned or better yet subscribe to the the Diva's 411 newsletter.

Envision Appreciates Design-Three Pebbles

Thank you Envision for the kind write up about one of my favorite designs, Three Pebbles (as shown below).
Envision is a design blog dedicated to appreciating design in products, clothing, art, home wares and anything else we come across along the way.

Three Pebbles is modern, whimsical and organic. The hand hammered band has such a lovely texture. Each sterling pebble is created by hand and so no two will be alike!Each pebble is a special wish for you or a loved one. No need to worry about the size as it is adjustable (size 6-9).

Brittney and Blake have no school today so they are pumped and in Nintendo DS heaven. I'm surprised they haven't asked to do a Krispy Kreme doughnut run for a little "hot and fresh".

My two little helpers are helping me wash some glass cabochons that I cut and fused last night in the kiln. Blake made his own little piece of art and that's why he is so anxious for me to open it up. Can you hear the "Is it ready yet?".....;)

I'm experimenting with more "prong" and "turtle" settings for the glass cabochons. I also have some ceramic fibre ordered and will be creating some original molds that I can use the ceramic fibre to create holes in the cabochons so I don't have to use the diamond drill bit which seems to take a long time to me! :)

Hope you have a fantastic Labor Day. I'm using mine to hang out with my family and catch up a little.

Definition of Beauty......Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore was recently quoted saying...

"I just think happiness is what makes you pretty. Period," she tells the magazine. "Happy people are beautiful. They become like a mirror and they reflect that happiness."

The Dallas Designing-Diva would like to congratulate her for being chosen for No. 1 spot on People magazine's annual "100 Most Beautiful People" list that will be hitting news stands this Friday.
