The Diva's 2008 New Year's Resolutions......

The Diva's 2008 "Top 10" Resolutions
(in no particular order)

  1. Find the time to take an advanced stone setting class with Martin at the Craft Guild
  2. Organize my studio-I have a very "creative clutter" thing going on that is just a tad out of hand! ;) My "metals" and "glass" studio need to be separate and I need to do it on paper first before I start shuffling everything around!
  3. Get my Diva Art Glass Line rolled out this first quarter ( I had hoped to roll this out before Dec 1st but that was much too ambitious).
  4. Purchase a larger kiln for production purposes and to fire larger pieces of glass
  5. Learn how to cook some meals in under 30 minutes (I love to cook but many of my favorite meals are too elaborate and the family starts looking "anorexic" by the time I'm done...LOL!)
  6. Be consistent with my "walking" routine ( our Weimi, Tina, loves her walks but loves it when I power walk with her)....kids, volunteer work, & rush orders seem to creep in and I just need to make this me time! ;)
  7. Explore & experiment with surface decoration techniques for warm glass (enamel, paints, frits)....know any good books anyone?
  8. Spend some down time with my hubbie & soul mate, John. We both work from home so sometimes we get lax about "doing things together"....being in the same room working on websites is not my idea of a "date night" (not that he thinks these are quality time either)!! It's not about going out for dinner but reconnecting more..;)
  9. Plan & go on a week long family vacation...we tend to go on mini-trips ...a camping trip here and there but we'd really like to go somewhere with the kids and hang loose!
  10. Laugh a little more.....my son,Blake, has this way of belly laughing that makes you thankful for all the little things ....it is good for the soul to laugh a little more! :)

P.S. I've admitted defeat....chocolate really is a food group but just needs to be eaten in moderation!!! I'll be 39 years old this year and I'm not fighting my urge to have a square of chocolate...it is my one daily indulgence over a cup of steaming of java that I savor!

Love your list Randi! Very inspirational. And I was thrilled to see the new treats coming out of your kiln that you've posted as well. Too cool!
Best Wishes!
