As a jewelry artist, I am always looking to expand my skills and knowledge for the sake of my art or as my hubbie says, your creative urges! Guilty as charged! I absolutely love dichroic glass and have been learning various techniques from a local glass artist. I have several "art jewelry" mentors that have been the curse of my bank account! I am also expanding my metal smith knowledge with more advanced fabrication and casting methods through a local guild. It is awesome to not only learn new skills but schmooze and learn about the business from my mentors. My glass ball says a new kiln is in my future which means more glass beads and art clay projects. I am drawn to many facets of jewelry making-glass (fused and lamp work),metal smithing, making chain, etc.. I am only limited by my imagination and oh although I hate to admit it, my budget! Remember, whatever art form resonates with you, take the time and invest in yourself-learn a new skill- to keep those creative juices flowing.
