Blue Talisman-an Aqua Aura Quartz pendant

aqua aura crystal pendantI was drawn to this shimmery blue crystal at the rock store the other day. It is an aqua aura crystal.

For those of you who are not familiar with this crystal it is produced by taking a natural quartz crystal and permanently bonding vaporized finely powdered pure gold.

I designed a thick sterling and fine silver girdle for the crystal and used 26 gauge to wire wrap a white freshwater button pearl and a brick shaped rainbow moonstone bead. The girdle has been "roughed up" to match the look of the "roughly faceted" crystal.

(Energies: Power, Healing, Love, Protection )

With the sterling jump ring the Blue Talisman pendant is almost 2 inches long and ~ 3/4 inches wide. This is an one of a kind pendant with complimentary aqua colored suede. Don't miss out on this one!

Rainbow Moonstone and Sapphire Crystal Silver Suspensions

I designed this necklace with rainbow moonstone. I jut love the irridescent quality of this stone. The sapphire swarovski crystals really make this design "pop". The drops vary in length (~2-3 inches long) and are accented with sterling silver charms.
I would love some feedback from my customers. Would you like the option of just purchasing the "silver suspensions" and adding them on a silver necklace you already own or would you prefer to buy the suspensions and necklace together??? Post a comment!

Gemstone -Precious and Semi-precious

Diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald are considered precious gemstones because of their beauty, rarity, durability and hardness. As a result, precious gemstones have a higher commercial value.

Any other gemstone is considered semi-precious: agate, opal, jade, peridot, moonstone, turquoise, lapis lazuli, malachite, and azurite are just a few. Because these gems are not as hard or as durable, you must care for them properly so that they will last.

At Designing-Diva Jewelry, I tend to use a lot of jasper because it comes in such a variety of colors. I also like white jade because it is often dyed and comes in some delicious candy colors. I love rainbow moonstone because of it iridescence. Using these semi-precious gemstones, allows me to have a lot of variety in my jewelry designs that is just not possible with the precious gemstones.
