I recently read the 2005 Newberry Medal winner, Kira-Kira, by Cynthia Kadohata. This book is targeted for middle school age kids ( my daughter and I like to book club).
Kira-Kira means glittering in Japanese and is used in the book to describe anything that Katie likes.
The Kira-Kira Collection which will be available later today features some of my favorite "glittering gemstones" (amethyst, peridot, tourmaline, smoky quartz, iolite , aquamarine...) wire wrapped to created sparkly earrings and pendants.

Need Something Blue.........
This gorgeous pendant was created using an amazonite nugget has been wire wrapped with sterling silver (of course) and white freshwater pearls and some petite seamless silver beads.
The pendant is ~ 2 inches long from the tip of the bail to the end of the freshwater pearl drop.
This is hot off the bench and only a cool $21.95 (use the button here as it is not on my website yet). Slide it on a silver or leather chain you already own and you will be rocking in this blue beauty!
I am working on a wire wrapped pendant collection and just love the look of amazonite! What other gemstones would you like to see wrapped? Comments on the design?
