Gemstone Meanings & Custom Necklace

semi-precious gemstone silver necklace
A portion of my business comes from custom requests from customers. This necklace was a request from Maria who lives in Malaysia who found Designing-Diva on the internet!

Using gemstone meanings to select the "colors", I assisted Maria to create a meaningful personalized sterling silver necklace.

Going from right to left (starting with the orange bead at the top), here are the semi-precious gemstones used...

  • Orange-carnelian
  • Yellow-citrine
  • White-white moonstone
  • Pink-rose quartz
  • Red-Red jasper
  • Black-onyx
  • Purple-amethyst
  • Violet-charoite
  • Blue-amazonite
  • Green-malachite
My girlfriend's loved the design so much that I have been flooded with birthday requests.....

Custom Beaded Awareness Bracelets

beaded awareness braceletsOne of my favorite things to do is custom beaded awareness bracelets. It is such an honor to hear my customer's unique stories and a privilege to create something so personal and meaningful for them!

This particular bracelet was created using 14k GF , vermeil (gold plated over silver) and genuine assorted swarovski crystals and tells the story of a survivor!

The other way you can create meaningful jewelry is to adorn yourself with gemstones that have been used for centuries for their healing/balancing properties. Here are two of my favorite stones and the "meanings" behind them:

Amazonite: Success, joy, self-expression, awakening heart, soothing, harmony, balancing

Labradorite: Alignment, spiritual connection, transformation, clarity, peace, progression, discernment

Designing-Diva does not infer that these gemstones will heal or can be used in place of medicine. Designing-Diva is just sharing the history and use of these gemstones in alternative medicine.

Amazonite Earrings

Amazonite is one of my favorite stones. I wonder if it has something to do with the gemstone meaning: success, joy, self-expression, awakening heart, soothing, harmony, balancing.Amazonite is found in the United States, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Russia, Australia, Namibia. Amazonite is usually light green to blue-green, mottled and sometimes contains light striations.

Are you a Mermaid enough?

This beautiful necklace looks like it belongs on a mermaid. It is designed from amazonite on a sterling silver wire mandrel and wire wrapped with aquamarine rondelles. The focal is a small shell charm and pearls. The amazonite is hung from hammered oval sterling chain.
