I've applied to the Craft Guild of Dallas Contemporary Art Show and Sale held Nov 1-4th. The Craft Guild of Dallas is a non-profit organization and all proceeds from the ticket sales and 30% of the artist's sales will go back to the Guild. The show will include the following categories....Jewelry, Metals, Clay, Book & Paper Arts, Painting, Photography, Collage & Mixed Media, Glass, and Fiber Arts.
I'm excited as this is a juried show and it would be great exposure plus any feedback would be invaluable as an emerging jewelry artist. I'm not sure when they will notify the artists if their application has been accepted ....;(
The second show that I've applied to and been accepted is the Annual Coppell Holiday House. This is a superb community event where all the proceeds benefit the graduating class for a safe grad. I've created a "red and black" lampwork glass set for the Auction (yep, CHS color's are red and black!). This will be my 2nd year at the Coppell Holiday House and I'm jazzed; it is great exposure within the community and for a great cause too.
I have a 3rd application filled out that I need to fax for a "girls night out" at Fair Park in Dallas on Nov 9th. Need to get my derriere in gear for this so I don't miss the deadline or jewelry is "locked out". Jewelry is a very competitive field and knowing about shows ahead of time or being a recurring jewelry vendor plays a huge factor of whether you get to participate in a retail show or not.
