Yeah. A happy Diva day. I got my Aim kiln shelf coated with kiln wash and fired it up late last night for the first time. What an exciting moment. Break out the champagne or at least a bottle of Coke! ;)
I created glass sandwiches last night. The bottom layer is black glass, the filling is assorted dichroic glass, and the top layer is clear glass. I get all my glass from Art Glass Decor in Lewisville, TX. Cheryl and Greg the owners are awesome. They also have an EBay store so if you don't live in N. Texas they can still help you out with your glass addictions/needs!
Cheryl mentioned the Warm Glass Boards and Warm Tips as a great fused glass resource and I have learned a lot from being a lurker!Yesterday, I learned that you can make your own version of Spray A with borax, soap and water. (Spray A is a devitrification spray.)
I ran 2 glass experiments last night (I guess you can't get the clinical geek out of me completely!):
1. Glass etching creme with a Fleur-de-lis and heart stamp
2. Using fine silver (99.9%) bezel wire to create a bail for 3 of the glass pendants
Check back later today and I will have pictures of the fused dichroic glass designs posted here.
