Here is a super quick and simple jewelry design idea for those of you who like to give hand crafted gifts but are not into jewelry making.
What you will need for this project:
20 inches of organza, suede, or silk cord (your color, your choice)
Inspiration Charm
Hook and Eye Clasp-Crimping style
Flat nose pliers
HypoCement
1. Take your stringing material (organza, suede or silk) and visually mark the center. Tie the Inspiration Charm at the middle.
2. Decide whether you want the design to be 16 or 18 inches long. Measure equal distances from the charm. Do NOT cut anything yet.
3. You may make a knot, slide on a bead (optional), and then slide your stringing material through the hook and eye clasp crimp.***Buy the appropriate size crimping hook and eye clasp for the material being used.*** Using your flat nose pliers, crimp the hook and loop clasp. Put a touch of hypocement on. Let dry and then cut the excess as closely as possible.
4. Voila you are done! Want to make it adjustable? Using a split ring add a chain extender!
All of these supplies will be available at your local beading or craft store. I have put links in to Fire Mountain Gems so you may see the findings I am discussing.
Remember if you live in the Dallas -Fort Worth area, let me host a jewelry trunk show for you and your gal pals. We can work together to have a fun and easy project or you can just sip and shop! :)
