Black Friday and Shopping

I found this article that was interesting about Black Friday. It marks the start of the shopping for the holidays. Just remember, when you shop for Diva Jewelry you can do it in your jammies with NO crowds and the 20% of sale will be exteneded until Monday the 27th at midnight. Just e-mail the Diva at Blog Sale with the items you want and I'll send you a corrected invoice. Free standard shipping is also included and all jewelry comes with a gift box.

"This is serious shopping. This is black-belt shopping. This is not for the meek shopper," said Michele Rothstein, Woodbury Common Premium Outlets.

An estimated 63 million shoppers will be competing for those early-bird bargains, and get a jump on reeling them in, stores like Walmart started slashing prices on toys in October.

"And the price cuts were about 25% steeper, so they've already thrown down the guantlet for the holiday season," said Christine Augustine, Retail Analyst for Bear Stearns.

Retailers like Best Buy fired back with drastic discounts on electronics and Kohl's is offering big reductions on jewelry, but supplies are limited and sell out fast.

Theresa Burrage has been checking out the bargains for weeks.

"If you think you're going to get out of bed and show up on Black Friday and not be prepared, you're not going to get anything," she said.

Eager consumers don't have long to wait. Retailers like those in Woodbury Common New York are opening their doors at midnight and they're even chartering buses to get shoppers there Thanksgiving night.

It's not different on Delmarva. At 3am, we saw cars on the road going to shop. Many popular retailers like Walmart opened around midnight Friday morning.
